This is what 28 weeks looks like!

I cannot believe the third tri-mester is here already!  Time is flying by and we are getting more anxious everyday.  I am in SUPER nesting mode and work on the nursery almost everyday, decorating, doing laundry, finding something new that matches the decor that I "have to" buy (I've been to Michael's and Babies R Us more in the last two weeks than I have been in 5 years!).  Everybody tells me to do it while I feel good and now is the time, before I start to slow down and move like a snail.  As you can see I am quite larger than a snail and according to my weigh-ins at the doctors office I weigh MUCH more than a snail ;)

Babymoon

Two years ago at the same time we were on our honeymoon in Costa Rica...how time flies!!  Since we were on the East coast to visit family and friend and had my shower we decided to take a quick flight to the Carribean for our babymoon and take advantage of my last opportunity to fly.  We decided on Turks and Caicos, just a short 3 hour flight from JFK but about 50 degree difference from NY (we left in the upper 30's and average temp there was 85!)

For those that have not been to T&C, we HIGHLY reccomend it.  There is not a ton to do on the island, so it's a perfect R&R location which is exactly what we needed.  We snorkled one day and Tim paddleboarded another day, and we took a sunset "glow worm" cruise.  It's an ocean worm mating ritual that happens 3-6 days after a full moon and we happened to be there at the right time, it looked like little fireflys in the water lighting up, pretty cool! Our hotel was beautiful right in the center of town, we walked to dinner and the grocery store and shops in town.  Hopefully we'll be back with little Raya one day!

Showered in NY

It's a little sad to be back in San Diego after a nice getaway. My family held a shower for me in NY, it was great to spend time with my dear friends and my moms dear friends. Like me some of my moms closest friends are those she's had since childhood, I've known them for years so it was special to have everybody together to celebrate Raya.

My mom and sister put everything together, a huge thank you to them for so many sweet and special touches...and thank you to everybody's generosity and thoughtful gifts for sweet baby girl who will grace us with her presence in approximately 12 weeks!!!

My sister put together this adorable clothesline and she got the sweet Eifel tower onsie, bib and burp cloth on Etsy to cordinate with baby Raya's Paris themed room.  I can't wait to use them yet I dont want them to get dirty :)

Diaper mini cakes by Jen, each one had a theme, pacifiers, shoes, bath products and teether, so cute!!!
Beautiful Diaper Cake by Michelle!  Michelle is a diaper cake pro and even helped me make my first one, too bad I haven't made another since I live 3,000 miles away and don't have Michelle to hold my hand through it, haha!
 Proud Grandma and Auntie
Childhood friends (Nicky and Danielle). I definately have some great friends to offer advice and learn from.  Nicky just had her 2nd son and Danielle has two little boys running around to keep her busy.  Tara couldn't make it to the shower, she has a girl and a boy and Katie who lives accross the pond has two sweet little girls.
 Pregnant in heels
Cute shirt my moms friends gave her - She is well deserving of her promotion!
My childhood Sesame Street China cup and plate - When I got home to NY one of the first things I noticed was my seseme street plate and cup missing from the shelf is has been on for the last 33 years.  It means so much that now it has been passed on and is sitting in our china cabinet in the dining room for the next generation.
One of my baby shirts, awwwww
 Yummy cake!
Little Logan was just a little over 2 when he was ringbearer in our wedding, now just over 4 years old he hung with dad and Timmy while the girls partied, before stopping by to say hi
Thank you again everybody it was such a special day!!! XOXO

A Special Christmas Present

Baby girl's name was given to each family on an ornament for Christmas with a description of the meaning.  Of course I got one for our tree too!

Raya as a girl's name is pronounced RYE-ah. It is of Hebrew origin, and the meaning of Raya is "friend".  Raya Island is also the name of the island off the coast of Phuket, Thailand that Tim and Lynn spent a beautiful 5 days in January 2011 for thier one year anniversary.

Grace as a girl's name is pronounced grayce. It is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Grace is "favor; blessing". Lynn grandmothers name was Grace and she cherishes the memories of her.  Tim and Lynn will be lodging on Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos for thier babymoon.

Altbaum is Tim's family surname pronounced Alt-balm. It is of German and Jewish origin, Alt meaning "old" and Baum meaning "tree".

We dont think her name could have a more perfect meaning to us!
